Sprout Social released the new edition of its best times to post on social media, which highlights the perfect time of day to post to different social platforms to optimize engagement.
The study is focused on data obtained from Sprout’s more than 20,000 customer base, who provide an important collection of data to draw out the main post times on social media and specify it. That said the best posting times will of course, vary depending on your specific audience, so the charts below are not permanent. However they are a good starting point for people who want to draw up a more successful plan, or a worthwhile shift of approach if they want to boost results.
In its full overview Sprout has provided industry-specific insights and more comprehensive studies, but we will look at some highlights in this post to provide a context for what the latest data suggests.
Note that all timings are recorded in the Central Time Zone (CST).
So first of all, on Facebook-Sprout says that, overall, the best time to post to Facebook for maximum engagement is Wednesday between 11am and 12pm.

As you can see from the chart, Wednesday is the best day on the whole while Sunday is the worst day on Facebook.
Wednesday is also the winner on Instagram, along with Friday at 10 a.m.

The worst day on Instagram, huh? Sunday, the same thing as Facebook. Perhaps that’s because people are more likely to be at home or to engage in leisure on
Sundays, and thus less likely to spend time on apps.
On Twitter, Wednesday and Friday, come out on top as well.

But as you can see, Saturday is, overall, Twitter’s worst, not Sunday, which seems to be a curious variance.
Spot’s data on LinkedIn say Wednesdays from 8–10 a.m. And noon, 9 a.m. on Thursdays. And 1–2 p.m. and 9 a.m. on Fridays. These are the most exciting times. These are the most exciting times.

The best days on LinkedIn are Wednesday and Thursday, and the worst is Sunday, keeping to the broader pattern, while on LinkedIn, too, Mondays look fairly low.
